It's a Sunshine Day.

The weather has been AH-MAY-ZING (in capitals for added exaggeration!) the past few days so yesterday my boyfriend and I ventured out to Greystones in Wicklow for a walk along the beach and an alfresco lunch in a new café opened up by two of my old college classmates. I say old but we only graduated last year, although it was so lovely to see how they were getting on. The food was absolutely delicious, just the kind of food that you would want to eat outside in the sun on a warm summer's day. This pair have worked along side Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall in River Cottage, and if you're a foodie like me, you will know about River Cottage food. Fresh, tasty, delicious. Happy food. And that's exactly the kind of food we got.

I love seeing and reading these kinds of lifestyle posts, and with the amount of snapping I do with my lovely camera, I thought it would be rude not to post some pictures of my recent adventures.

I love lazy days like these in the sun, it was so relaxed and calming by the sea. Sometimes I forget how much I love the seaside, the smells, the freshness, the views. If you're ever out in Greystones be sure to pop into The Beech Tree for a nibble and a wander around the gardens. You won't be disappointed!

I hope you're enjoying the sun wherever you are, it is so hot here in Dublin that it just makes me want to be outside all the time. I got sunburnt yesterday too, and it's only March!

Hope you're all having a lovely wednesday!

Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Lipsticks

Yesterday I attended the launch of the new Make Up Forever Rouge Artist Lipstick range. Make Up For Ever is a brand that I love, I think it is so unique and fun and innovative in terms of artistry and colour, and when I think of makeup professionals, I think of Make Up For Ever. I do own quite a few MUFE products, and I LOVE lip products, but I have never actually tried out any of their range, because I was never genuinely drawn to them. You hear more about their HD range than anything else, and so I was quite overwhelmed to see just how amazing their new lipstick range actually was.

This collection is amazing. The Rouge Artist range offers 100 new lipsticks, 50 of which are 'Rouge Intense', the other 50 entitled 'Rouge Natural'. The intense shades are extremely pigmented with amazing longevity and come in three different finishes; Matte, Pearl and Satin. The shade range is amazing, varying from nudes, beiges, browns, corals, warm pinks, fresh pinks, reds, burgundy, to the 'Forever' colours which include deep purples, gold and even black. Black! The natural range on the other hand is quite sheer in texture, and is all about shades with sensational translucent shine. The Natural range is on the border between lipstick and lip care, as it stays pigmented but also delivers an amazing 8 hour hydration to the lips. The Natural range also comes in three finishes; Satin, Iridescent or Diamond, with an equally impressive shade range varying from praline pinks to plum and everything in between. I really like the idea of the Intense and Natural Rouge Artist range because they both deliver on pigmentation without compromising on duribility or resistance.

The lovely Julie, Leanne and I all got to try out some of the lipstick range applied by the amazing David Arbid who is MUFE's International Pro Trainer. We also got to meet with Annie Gribbin, the face of MUFE Ireland, who runs the flagship store in Dublin. Annie was trained by Dany Sanz, the creator of MUFE, and it was so refreshing to listen to her ideas for upcoming charity campaigns, as she is so passionate about the brand, and about makeup. It made me so excited to try out some of the shades, and David matched me to a bright pink, topped with a kind of metallic bronze gloss. He said the lipstick accented the jacket I wore and the gloss echoed the metallic bronze in my watch! Talk about an eye for detail! I was so happy with the result because I would have never thought to pair those particular colours together. It just shows you how creative you can be with colour. As he was applying, he gave me some tips about lipcare, and we had a general chitchat about the range of colours in the new collection. I was so surprised to find that this lipstick lasted ALL day, and couldn't wait to try out the little samples we recieved when I got home. I recieved a mini version of both a Rouge Intense and Rouge Natural, and a Lab Shine gloss. Isn't the gloss the most AMAZING colour?! I tried out the pale natural lipstick and topped it with the gloss, and my god, I don't think I have ever loved a colour combo so much! I am actually making it my business to put these lipsticks on my current lust list, I think I have found a new love.

Make Up For Ever are also launching their new Irish website where you can shop online for amazing MUFE products from the comfort of your bum. Amazing!

I will most definitely be nipping in to purchase some of the new lipstick range, which retail at €19.
If you want to check out the new range, Make Up For Ever is located on 38 Clarendon Street, Dublin 2.

The Aztec Summer Dress

Photobucket

Dress - Asos | Belt - H&M | Sunnies - Asos

Today sees the Spring Equinox, meaning Spring has finally sprung! I love how it's becoming warmer during the day and brighter in the evenings, which definitely puts me in a sunshine happy mood! I bought this dress a few weeks ago, from Asos, (no surprise there!), as I thought it was be the perfect summer dress. I love wearing dresses in the summer, and although it isn't quite as warm to wear this solo, I did wear it yesterday with tights and a cardi.

This dress was also available in white, which I would've preferred, but they only sold it in the petite range. Darn it! I opted for the black, and against my pale Irish skin it probably looks anything but summery, so hopefully with a bit of a tan it'll pop a bit more. I love the print and the shape and I hope to get a nice bit of wear out of this baby in the coming months!

I fell for these glasses the second I saw them. I tend to go through different styles of sunnies every so often, but for the last two years or so I have been sporting the trusty old Ray Ban style sunnies. These cat eye glasses have such a unique shape that I couldn't resist.

I hope everyone had a lovely St. Patricks Day, Mother's Day and a bank holiday monday!
Talk soon :) x

Thursday Schmursday.

Ok, what a terrible title. I really couldn't sum this post up with a witty title, because it's a kind of "What's in my bag slash random bits I've accumulated slash I like taking pictures of things in my room with my fancy camera." Its Thursday. Not my favourite day. But oh so close to the weekend. It's not as bad as Tuesday. Tuesday's are the worst. The slump of Monday is gone, but oh look, I still have a whole week left until the weekend?! But as I said, today is Thursday! So it's ok. Kind of.
I love seeing "What's In My Bag?!" posts. Nosey person that I am. It's sad but true. I love seeing the stash someone carries around with them. Mine unfortunately, is quite a stash. I took all of these things out of my bag and was a little bit overwhelmed that I had compiled this amount of stuff into it. But surely they're necessities no?! Probably not. But they're in there anyway.

Usually if I'm out for the night I will bring a makeup bag in addition to this, but on a day to day basis, random products are just thrown in, you know, for the craic. And so:

Makeup: I am aware that I will never need all of these things at the same time, especially the lipsticks! But I like having a variety if I'm out, and the two lipsticks can take me from day to night if I can't make it home! :) Inglot Compact, Norwegian Formula Intense Repair Lip Balm, MAC Creme Cup, NARS Scarlet Empress, Vaseline Aloe Vera Lip Balm, MAC Select Concealer, MAC Studio Careblend Powder.

Beauty: I like carrying floss, which may be a bit odd for some, but there is nothing worse than going for a meal, and nipping to the bathroom to realise you have something stuck in your teeth and nothing to get it out with! An essential in my bag. I use this one from Tesco, it was like 2 for a euro or something; Dove Handcream: I love keeping my hands soft and moisturised, and constantly use this!; Carex Hand Sanitiser: I'm a germ freak, and have to have this with me at all times!; YSL Cinema Perfume; My signature scent, never leave without it; Umberto Gianinni Dry Shampoo: I don't usually use this, but can be useful when out and hair needs a bit of sprucing up and a refresh.

Other things: I have these foundation samples in my bag from yonks ago, have yet to use them; keys plus keyring of me, my boyfriend and his daughter at the zoo; Gok Wan glasses, yes they are prescription!; Moleskine Diary: I am also an organisation freak!; Pen: this one is from Staedtler, I love writing with them; Purse, and Phone; Kudos if you can guess who my screensaver is!!

My day to day lipsticks and eyeshadows (Slightly worrying) / Leopard Boots and Black Suede Boots, both from Boohoo.com
New Purchases: No.7 Eyelash Curlers, Sally Hansen Maximum Growth Polish, MAC Lipstick in Watch Me Simmer, Rimmel Lipstick in Vintage Pink (Posts on both coming soon!), RealTechniques Stippling Brush, Eylure Lash Glue / MAC Watch Me Simmer from the Shop MAC, Cook MAC Collection

Is anyone doing anything nice for the weekend?! I hope you enjoyed reading, and if you haven't already entered, be sure to check out my Giveaway HERE.

MAC Viva Glam Nicki

I had never before purchased one of the Viva Glam range from MAC. I don't know why, the Cyndi and Gaga versions didn't appeal to me for some reason, at the time that is. Both lipsticks are lustre's, which is a finish I'm not a huge fan of, and perhaps thats the main reason I steered clear. I had heard about Nicki coming out, and just fell for the colour almost immediately. It is something I have nothing close to in colour in my collection, and just, well, I just couldn't resist.

First off, it's a Satin finish. If you're not familiar with Satin's, all I can tell you is that they are extremely pigmented, a little bit less matte than a Matte, but still quite drying. I only have one other Satin in my collection and that is Myth, and I quite detest it! I thought I hated it because of it's formula, although it's colour majorly contributes to my hatred for it as well. After wearing Viva Glam Nicki for a day and a evening out, I can say that it is quite a drying lipstick, and left my lips feeling quite poorly and flaky. I hate this feeling! My lips are quite dry as it is, but I risked it for the amazing colour payoff that Nicki gives. My only advice is to use a preeeetty good lip scrub and moisture balm before applying.

Now to the colour. It's decribed as a yellow pink, and is such a statement colour. I actually adore this colour, so much, it's just so loud and bright, and well, statement-y. Definitely one to get you noticed. I really really love it.

Apart from its payoff, it's longevity is quite admirable. I went to Wagamama for lunch the day I trialed this baby, and it stayed put throughout an entire hour of noodle slurpage. It was only later on in the day did it start to feel flaky and drying, and lip balm application was necessary. I used Nicki over a hot pink lipliner from Essence, so it stayed where it should for the majority of the day.

Overall, I am quite happy with this purchase. I mean, nothing is perfect right? So I suppose the finish is it's downfall, for me anyway. But the colour totally makes up for it. I can see myself reaching for this time and time again. (Aprés lip moisturisation, obv.) Perhaps I will purchase it's brother product, the Ricky Martin Lip Conditioner, that was suspiciously released alongside Nicki. Squinty eyes.

Another thing I love about this product is that the Viva Glam range is in association with the MAC Aids Fund, in which every cent from the sale of these products goes towards helping women, men and children affected by or living with HIV and Aids. I think it is so admirable that this brand does that, and by buying Nicki, I truly feel like I am helping, and not just buying another superfluous beauty product.

Top 10 Favourite Blushes

Photobucket

I absolutely adore blush. I used to ponder that all blush was the same, like how many shades of pink can one really pull off?! Boy was I wrong. As you can see from my favourites list below, pale pink blush is positively tame compared to my lot. I do tend to favour the louder varieties of blush, as I have countless pinks in my collection as a whole, and find them to be a bit blasé. Here are my favourites and most worn, and what I think of each of them.

MAC

Photobucket
Harmony | Dainty | Mocha

Harmony: (Matte muted rose-beige brown)
I love love love this to contour with, but sometimes use this as a blush in it's own right if my lips are particularly bright, and I don't want to appear drag-queen-esque with a loud blush.

Dainty: (Light Yellow Pink with Gold Pearl)
This is a really pretty blush if I want a bit of shimmer without having to resort to using a highlight product.

Mocha: (Matte Soft Plum-Pink)
The perfect pink for my skin tone. This is my go-to blush.

SLEEK

Photobucket

Santorini | Pomegranate

Santorini: Matte loudmouth pink
This is my ultimate 'mad' blush. It is so highly pigmented that even the faintest swash of this blush will give the most amazing look.

Pomegranate: Shimmery Plum Gold
A gorgeous soft plum for everyday.

ILLAMASQUA

Photobucket

Morale | Libido

Morale: Deep Violet Flush with Shimmer Finish
I can't get enough of purple blushes! They are just so stunning, and this one by Illamasqua is unbelievable. So pigmented, perfect colour, easily buildable.

Libido: Cream Blush, Vibrant Red Orange with Dewy Finish
The fact that this is a cream blush makes applying so easy to build, so it can be as sheer or as pigmented as I like. I really love the piquancy of this colour.

NARS

Photobucket

Orgasm/Laguna

Orgasm/Laguna: Peachy Pink with Shimmer/Brown with Golden Shimmer
Believe the hype about this cult classic. The duo is the perfect combo together. The peachy coral of the blush just oozes summer, is shimmery and lasts a very long time. The bronzer, well, bronzes, without looking muddy, and is a lovely contour despite its teeny bit of shimmer.

TOPSHOP

Photobucket

Powdered

Powdered: Matte Bright Candy Pink
This is the pinkest of Topshop's blushes, and it was actually a mistake purchase. I thought I picked up Pop, a coral orange, and was disheartened to see that when I ripped off the packaging, it was in fact, not what I thought. I kept it any way, and it is now one of my favourite pinks. So bright and candy like, it peps up my face on a dreary day. I was also surprised at the quality of Topshop's makeup, and I intend to add to my little collection.

MAKE UP FOR EVER

Photobucket
#1 | #12

#1: HD Cream Blush, Vibrant Plum
I told you I was mad for the purples. As far as cream blush goes, I was relatively new to that whole trend until I picked this baby up at IMATS. I absolutely love it. It is very buildable and gives such a unusual hue to the cheeks. I like to wear this on my lips too.

#12: HD Cream Blush, Bright Apricot
This is so pigmented it's almost overwhelming to apply. It is definitely easier to build on the cheeks than it is to mute, if you go over the top you run the risk of having neon orange cheeks! Suffice to say, this is also such an unusual colour that makes me love it even more.

What are your favourite blushes? Have you tried any of these?
